Description
Sow from September to April.
Sow outside in September or April, and inside from October - March. Outside sowings can be made direct into the flowering site at 2cm deep. Indoor sowings can be made in pots. We recommend sowing 5 seeds into a 7.5cm (3") deep pot. Keep in a cold frame or glasshouse and do not let the soil dry out. Seeds can be soaked and before sowing, but is not necessary. Germination can take up to 3 weeks. They can be planted out in spring. Harden off in March, and then plant out in early April.
When the plants ahve grown 3 pairs of true leaves, pinch out the tops to encourage side shoots and stronger growth.
The sweet peas will benefit from feeding the foliage or soil dressing at fortnightly internavls. Supports are also recommended.
