There is nothing quite as special and rewarding as going out to your own garden and selecting home grown produce to use in your meals. Add colour to your salads with this delicious sharp lemon flavoured salad leaf. Sorrel is a perennial plant, one of the last to die down for winter and one of the first to appear in spring.,SOW In-situ in a prepared bed. Sorrel is not fussy about soil type or fertiliser. Sow in drills 1cm (1/2"") deep in rows 30cm (12"") apart. HARVEST Pick leaves from outer edges of plants. Leave centre heart to continue growing. Remove seed heads if they appear. Use sparingly in salads as it has a strong flavour.
