An attractive bedding plant with its intriguing long red tassels but it can also be dried for winter use and makes a great pot plant.

Flowers July to October .

Height 60-90cm.

When to sow - March to May

Where to sow - Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place and keeep at a temperature of between 20-25°C (68-77°F)

What to do next - When the seedlings are large enough to handle, prick out into trays spacing seedlings 5cm (2"") apart. Grow on and gradually harden off before planting outside 35cm (14"") apart form late May.

Handy Tip -  Will grow well even in poor soil but does not like a sunny position. Can also be sown direct outside form late April.
