Description
Description
The answer to many gardeners' prayers, as this Parthenocarpic courgette reliably bears fruit early in cool, cloudy conditions, even when there are no bees or male flowers around for pollination. This variety does not require insect pollination. A good cropper, with tasty fruits enhanced by a strong flavour.
Handy tip, this variety fruits early under cooler conditions.
Pack Size:15 Seeds
When to Sow Sure Thing Courgette Seeds: Sow April to May underglass or Mid May to June outdoors
When to Plant Out: May to June
Where to Sow: Sow courgette seeds on edge 1.5cm (1/2") deep to prevent rotting in pots or trays during April to May 2.5cm (1") apart under glass at 20°C (68°F) using good quality seed sowing compost. Sow outdoors mid-May to June direct into growing site 1.5cm (1/2") deep 2 to 3 seeds in each position 60cm (24") apart.
What to do Next: Greenhouse sowings should be gradually hardened off once they have developed the first pair of rough leaves and transplanted to growing site in late-May to early-June 60cm (24") apart. Outdoor sowings should be thinned to one plant per station.
When to Harvest: Courgette Sure thing is a Summer Vegetable. Ready to harvest from July to October.
Handy Tip: Regular picking produces a crop over many months. Pick these courgettes when young to maintain a long cropping period.
