Description

Early flowering strain producing large clumps of grass like foliage and strong tall spikes of fiery colours of warm red and yellow flowers. Height 80cm. A long lasting perennial which is ideal for use as a cut flower.

WHEN TO SOW March and April

WHERE TO SOW Sow seeds onto the surface of good free draining, seed compost and lightly cover the seed with a sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 18-20°C (64-68°F) until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days.

WHAT TO DO NEXT Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed 23cm (9-12") apart.
