A Breeding Breakthrough! Gardeners can once again grow Impatiens without the risk of disease! Beacon’s has been proven to show high resistance to the devastating Impatiens downy mildew that wiped out plants in 2012.
Beacon is a six colour vibrant mix that grows stronger and shines longer in borders , baskets or containers
Half Hardy Annual Height 25-30cm (10-12in) Sow February to April Plant Out June Onwards Flowers June to September WHERE TO SOW Sow seed on the surface of a good free draining seed compost and lightly cover seeds with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite.
Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 20-25°C until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days.
WHAT TO DO NEXT Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed 15-30cm (6-12") apart in borders or containers.
HANDY TIP Impatiens grow well in Full Sun or part Shade.
