Description

Taller than other varieties of Ageratum, bearing large heads of deep blue flowers from July onwards. Blue Ball however lacks hybrid uniformity and grows to a height of about 25cm (10""). This beautiful flower, however on the short size would still make a striking cut flower to have in your home.

Pack size: 500 Seeds

Half Hardy Annual

Height: 25cm(10"")

When To Sow - February to April

Where to Sow - Sow the seeds on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in trays or pots. Lightly cover the seed with a sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place and keep at a temperature of between 18-21°C (65-70°F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination which usually takes 7-21 days.

What to do next - When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed 15-20cm (6-8"") apart in well drained soil in full sun.

Maturity - June to October

Handy Tip - Best planted in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Dislikes exposed positions and must be watered regularly during the summer.
